Oilers was slammed by the media for his playoff performance. Thing is that he had a rough year and he was the only one on his line not given a chance to play better minutes. McLellan did nothing to try to spark offense in the young player with no playoff experience. Nuge saw more ice time and good offensive starts. Lucic was even moved to the top line and PP at times. Eberle stayed faced final seconds of PPs when the other team was releasing their top lines.

When Draisaitl went to the third line it was Slepyshev that went to the top line even though Eberle has a history of Success with McDavid and Slepyshev barely made the team. When Draisaitl got his own line against ANA, Caggula was moved to the top line and Eberle was moved to the last. Even at 7-1, McLellan did nothing to try to find chemistry in a player who got 51 points this year (third highest on the team).

McLellan killed Eberle's value in the playoffs. Eberle was a big reason the Oiler's made the playoffs. Last summer Taylor Hall's value might have been at its highest after his amazing performance at the World Championship and Chiarelli was able to get Larsson for him. Then he signed Lucic to replace him.

Thats the ability of the Oilers GM. I think we all would rather have had Hall with Nuge in the playoffs than Lucic and his terrible contract. Larsson is decent but he is a second tier defender and so is Demers. Trading Eberle when his value is low is just going to get us another defender that costs too much and does too little. Oilers need a top defender. Klef is looking like that guy but he can't carry the whole defense.

Even if Puljarvii is ready and he is able to play at the NHL level as a second line player, that still leaves the Oilers short a RW. The Oilers future has Draisaitl and McDavid as 1-2 centers. Think Crosby and Malkin except these guys aren't lazy and don't dive all the time. Eberle did good with McDavid. Unless Nuge can play the wing cause Nuge has more upside, then I say keep him till he has some value.

This is just complete crap. Delete yourself. Chris Cornell just deleted himself and he was actually good at something. You are not.

Yup. And the coach ruined his value in the playoffs by not playing him on whatever line it took to get him scoring because for some reason it's all about eberle.
When will these dinosaurs learn that great things happen to the team when they rid themselves of that old core. Look what happened to the team simply by moving hall?

The Oilers experienced more regular season success than they have in over two decades

Man, that doc shot BS guy from Vancouver who he hired as a shooting coach needs to retire. I'd say Eberle hits the net maybe 2 out of every 10 shots he takes since hiring him... It's ridiculous.

OMFG...

I am not a hater of Ebs, but just like with Yak he bares the brunt of not performing.

Wasn't it the beginning of the season that Ebs and Lucic started with McD? He does not have a history of producing with McD.

Just stop. You don't know anything.

He definitely didn't help him that's for true. Or I mean it's management's fault for not putting him in the best place to exceed. You must be gifted everything and in no way should have to work hard and prove yourself.
